About Agency M-1

Agency M-1, a digital consulting agency, formed in 2020 at the Mike Ilitch School of Business as the result of a generous grant from HubSpot, as well as the leadership of the ITO student organization and its faculty advisors. The vision is to create opportunities for students while assisting real businesses and capitalize on untapped revenue using information systems.
Current opportunities exist for MISB students to apply their skills, education, and experience in the agency to benefit the small- and mid-market business community in Detroit, MI. Specialties range from marketing campaigns, data and campaign analytics, search engine optimization, and finance. These categories are all built on the pillars of inbound marketing, sales, and service strategies in HubSpot software. Students from all business disciplines (even those not mentioned above) at WSU/MISB will have the opportunity to participate in various roles, capacities, and responsibilities as our agency grows. Innovation and forward-thinking will be required as the needs of our internal (student organizations) and external (business community) customers exceed the capacities of what has already been built.


Job Description

As a Content Marketing Intern, you will receive experience in and be responsible for:

  •  Conducting research to develop content for the Agency M-1 website,
  •  Creating new content based on the existing framework,
  •  Participating in the onboarding process,
  •  Verifying and maintaining content which already exists,
  •  Scheduling ongoing new content, and
  •  Setting up lifecycles to keep content relevant, current, and accurate.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems Management,
  • Journalism, Marketing, or other related fields.
  • GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrate leadership in a field of study, extra-curricular activities, or service organizations.
  • Able to contribute 10-12 hours per week, more during the summer months.
