What is Bounce Rate?
In website analytics we often look at bounce rate to determine how well our website is performing. A bounce is a single-page session view on your website. A bounce happens when a session sends a single request and then exists.
A simple equation can help you understand the metric better
Bounce Rate= Single Page Sessions/All Sessions
Do I want a high bounce rate or a low bounce rate?
Generally speaking you want a lower bounce rate. If the goal of your site is to get viewers to view multiple pages then a high bounce rate is bad. However if your site is only a single page then a high bounce rate is fine. Typically you want to aim to have your bounce rate to be lower than 40%. However if it's a little higher that's okay.
