      Tone

      Tone is defined as a subset of voice.  It refers to the moods and attitudes of specific content pieces.  These can change depending upon the channel, the situation, and the audience. For tone, context is very important.  

      Consider:

      • What is the purpose of the content?
      • Who are you writing to?
      • How do they feel?
      • What do they want to understand?
